What Is This?

The "Open Data Grid" (ODG) is an open distributed storage grid for open data based on Allmydata's open-source "Tahoe" system. It is being coordinated by the Open Knowledge Foundation and anyone can participate:

  • Warning: the grid is not yet stable and you should not yet rely on it for permanent storage.

The grid was launched in May 2009 and is currently in an alpha state while we do testing and development.
